I hope you enjoy some British wildlife pictures today with a few haiku for fun. All photos were taken locally in Dorset.
Red squirrel
On Brownsea Island where no grey disturbs our dreys, scamper and flourish Our cheeky chatter and playful chase, we compete for pine seeds we love
Otter
On The River Stour we watch you slide gracefully through green water weed The family grows year by year, fatter on eels and duckling desert
Water Vole
Somehow I shudder not, your chubby cheeks delight you are not a rat Could it be only the tail is furry, that makes the cute difference
Sikka Deer
Sika deer gather in woodlands and purple heath, all nibble and munch No great fear found here natural predator free only cars and guns
Fox
A day time snooze goes heavily awry with snores. Camera man walks The sleeper wakes fast both man and beast surprised but he clicked already
Stoat
Wind in the Willows painted us as the bad guys. I look bad to you? We are just fearless Why hate us for our courage? We want to survive
Seal
Oh hello Bob mate Whatcha doing today then? Bobbing, just bobbing
Thank you again to D.F. Whalley, Wildlife Photographer, for the use of such stunning photographs.

Critters of Dorset
Hola, April. This was a pleasure, the walk on the almost tamed wilderness.

Man without animals
Has a hollow emptiness
Hallowness missed.
